Welcome to the
Affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society
Formed in 1976, the Hazlemere Gardening Association is a non-profit making organisation with the aim of stimulating interest in horticulture in the local area, assisting and encouraging members to improve their standards of gardening and providing members with the financial benefits of bulk buying of garden products.
There are over 300 members and we welcome new members from Hazlemere and the surrounding villages. Membership is currently £5 a year or £3 for Seniors (60 plus), and covers all the family at your address. To find out how to join us, please click here
We have a trading store for our members at Cedar Barn, Hazlemere, which is normally open every Sunday morning from 10am to 12 noon from early February to mid October. Although non-essential retail, indoor leisure facilities and outdoor hospitality will re open on Monday 12th April 2021. We are still living with social distancing and mask wearing so sadly have decided we will not be able to open the Barn store safely until mid summer at the earliest.
Regrettably we have had to cancel our order for seed potatoes, onion sets, shallots and Summer flowering bulbs, due to the uncertainty regarding lockdown measures and whether we would be allowed to open. We are already fully stocked with our usual composts, including peat free, Jacks Magic, manure, Strulch and composted and decorative bark. We also have a full selection of Unwins flower and vegetable seeds. As well as stocking Unwins seeds we will also be selling a smaller amount but good range of Dobies seeds as a trial. These will mainly be flowers and vegetables that are not stocked by Unwins. To see range of gardening products, please click here.
We have decided to delay our opening until the begining of March. We will not be opening the store for normal sales, but will be operating our ‘order & collection system’. You can send in your orders from Monday 1st March and collections will be available from the following Sunday 7th March.
Each year, we organise visits to gardens, a popular plant sale, Spring and Autumn horticultural shows and a social evening with a speaker. Regrettably we have taken the decision to cancel our Spring show, planned for Saturday 17th April 2021. Dependent on the situation improving, we hope to be able to run planned trips and other events later in the year. For more information, please click here.
